This is a boost to the punters. It is a boost in that the outcome of the match might help the punter get back his/her money even if it means there is no profit.
The odds for handicap results vary depending on which side of the two teams that are playing is advantaged. The advantage team obviously gets very low odds while the disadvantaged is the one that gets larger or higher odds.
There are so many similarities between this wager and that of “handicap result” wager. Nevertheless, there is a difference between them. The difference is that while this market has the potential of refunding the punter under some circumstances, the “handicap result” has no room whatsoever for a refund to the punters. The “alternative handicap result” will refund the gambler if and only if the team that the punter had placed a bet on to win, wins the game but ends up in a draw because of the handicap goal that was awarded to the other team before the start of the match.
A better example can be that there are two teams; Team X and Team Y. if the professional gambler decides to give Team Y a goal by handicap and then placed a bet on Team X to win the match, the punter will only win that bet if the goals scored by Team X surpasses the total goals score by team Y (inclusive of the handicap goal). If Team X wins the match but the total goals scored by Team X end up equalling those of Team Y, that will be counted as a draw and hence the punter will be entitled to a refund. However, the punter loses the bet if the number of goals scored by team X failed to equal or surpass those of Team Y.
